Set the limits first

Every operator listed here is required by its licence to offer deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, cooling-off periods and permanent self-exclusion. They are in account settings, they are free, and setting a deposit limit on the day you register is the single most effective thing you can do.

Because these operators are offshore, provincial self-exclusion schemes do not reach them — including Ontario's. Exclusion has to be set at each operator individually, and excluding yourself at one does nothing at the others.

Warning signs

Chasing losses with larger stakes. Gambling with money set aside for something else. Hiding how much you play, or lying about it. Borrowing to play. Feeling unable to stop after a win.

Any one of those is reason enough to use the self-exclusion tool today rather than after the next session.
